I don't know if this has been done before, but I've never seen it and i was curious..

I've seen many threads and suggestions for easy songs to cover, but what are the MOST DIFFICULT songs you've tried to cover in a band?

No. Everybody dies. And one day, given that your relationship doesn't crash and burn like so many do, one of you will end up deep in sorrow while watching the other one die.

black dahlia murder songs are hard, just technically for the guitar, bass and drums. as well as the huge difference in the two vocal styles.

Maybe getting the very same effects on Jimi Hendrix' songs, Songs with synth parts, Prog and psychedelic rock in general...
About names... Say... Voodoo child, A day in the life, Baba O'Riley, dunno.
#4
That I've tried? That woud have to be Cliffs of Dover. Its hard to gst synced when the guitar is soloing the entire f***ing time.
I love Cheezy Poofs, you love Cheezy Poofs,

Those Who Cannot Speak by Shadows Fall...the parts are so f**king intricate. It was hard for us to get together as a band, but it was great in the end

Raining Blood By Slayer, it not the whole song, but that part where it kicks up to like 250 bmp and it like 16th notes the good damn way, it kills me.

Pull Me Under, by Dream Theater. Keeping a steady tempo while doing the pre-chorus bit with all downstrokes, along with the crazy parts where the guitar and bass go off playing some ridiculous lick in unison, was quite the challenge.

Killing in the name and Chop suey.I don`t know the real version of killing in the name, but with chop suey my intro sounds better than UG version, i dont know why.Its only the intro and needs to be correctly tuned, but its also the most easy version of chop suey, and in my opinion the best.

blindfolds aside by protest the hero is still giving us trouble..chop suey is kinda hard if you dont know the basic song layout, but we can do it ok. toxicity is kinda hard but its probably the funnest song ive ever drummed to..there's a few but we usually end up nailing them a little later on
#17
Yea toxicity is a fun song to play. unfortunately at my school i am surrounded by players WITH NO SKILL!!!!!!!!!!! wat makes a song hard anyway????? is there any one particular thing???? Personnaly i find retarded timings r my downfall

The only hard part of most songs is the solos a duh

I'm gonna have to disagree with that. Look at techdeath bands. A lot of the time, imo, their riffs are harder than their solos. Just check out Epitaph by Necrophagist, or any of their songs really. I have an easier time with the solos than the damn riffs.

rythm guitar! anything wit strumming. i played all along the watchtower at a battle of the bands. i owned in the solos but the verse sounded retarded. i cannot play rythm

Castles Made of Sand, always had trouble with the begining, i improvised alot, my band mates told me not to play but we still got the crowd screaming for more!

im gonna say alotta pink floyd songs are hard to cover...... money, another brick in the wall. another band that i think is hard to cover(sometimes) is the eagles. so many layers of guitar. oh and we tried to cover carry on my wayward son. that didnt work out to well

I haven't really looked up alot of those songs yet, but is Canon Rock by JerryC even considered hard by you all? Just wondering, its taking me a bit.

On the classical side, what about 'Classical Gas', that seems pretty hard to get just right also. Please don't thrash me apart if these are like super easy to you guys, but they seem most difficult I've heard.

^ no dude, i pretty much gave up completely while trying to play those songs. To rehash somthing from before....the rythem in ALOT of songs is harder than the solo. I beileve the rythem to the Alter Bridge song One Day Remains is alot harder than the solo.
