ok so I've got a good idea from this forum and reviews and stuff about which tube combo amp I should get for death metal sounding stuff like dying fetus, cyrptopsy, etc. (Peavey 5150/6505, Engl Screamer, Mesa rect-o-verb, randall rg50tc) But since stores don't really carry them it will be hard to try them out. Which would you recommend getting. Are any easy to find used?

I found a new Engl 50 screamer combo starting at 950 on ebay. Is this worth it?

Maybe look int an Engl Fireball. It might be too expensive, but at least look. OUt of those tho, Id say the Mesa or the 5150.

I didn't think the fireball came as a combo. Also, why do people still get the 5150 when they say the newer 6505 is pretty much the same thing. How should I know which to get?

The 5150 is the exact same thing as the 6505 and is cheaper. That's pretty obvious why people get it over the 6505...

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me

will the Engl 50 screamer have enough distortion for death metal?
