Hey guys, I was just wondering if the Dano Fish n Chips was a good EQ, or if the Boss GE-7 would be better? Also, I'm pretty sure I know, but just for clarity, what exactly des the EQ do-like, why would you need it with your amps eq??
Get the MXR 10 band eq. more control over your tone. it shapes and forms your tone more. usually for solo boosts, kinda as a mid boost
the mxr sounds flat at loud volumes. i dislike it. and contrary to the picture they paint in their advertisement, the frequencies they select arent crucial as theyd have you believe.
The Dano is considered a good bang for the buck, but a higher quality one is miles better. The MXR 6 band (or 10 ****s all over the Boss)
oh ok.. well i havnet got a chance to try it but thats usually the EQ people suggest around here. i personally prefer a clean booster
I just got the danelectro fish and chips, and man my tone is a lot better now. Everything basically sounds fatter and not as harsh, and now i can actually use my wah without my eardrums breaking... nice. I'm not sure how different the more expensive mxr ones will be other than more eq bands, but this seems to do a good job right now.
Alright thanks guys.
i don't like EQ pedals. i didn't really get the point of them. i can make myself a treble booster, or a mid booster, so i guess EQs aren't waht i want...
Well the point of one for me was cause my little tube amp only has one tone knob so I couldn't get the exact tone i wanted, but now i can
^ oh but that tone know is amazign i played one today. and im amazed evertime i play it. crank the master adn preamp as loud as you can possibly take it. and crank out the blues
oh yea. for an amp that doesn't have a tone stack it might be nice. u could probably modifiy it to have a small 3-band tone stack but yea. EQ pedal would help in that case.
^ well yea i play with teh tone knob on it all the time, i find decent tones its pretty nice
