I have their first album, its what got me into guitar. Like A Stone, Last Remaining Light, Show Me How To Live, Bring Em Back Alive were all great.

Their later albums seemed to go downhill though.

i love all of their albums although revelations had kind of a funky beat into it. try listening to the songs "one and the same", "wide awake", "revelations" and "moth" i think those songs are great
#8
First two albums were great, but revelations was a bit poor.

Got all three of their albums. Out of Exile just pips S/T with Revelations quite a way behind. Revelations makes me kinda glad they broke up earlier this year.

RATM + Soundgarden= Awesomeness!!
I have all three albums and I think the debut is one of the best rock albums of recent years (well it came out like 6 years ago) it is just ridiculously good, and Out of Exile isnt far behind. Revelations isnt as good but sometimes I listen and think, 'man thats was pretty good'. I think they raised the standard so high earlier it was hard to beat it.

How did Chris wreck Audioslave? Didn't it just kinda fall apart on its own?

Anyway, I love the first album, especially the second half. Getaway Car is probably my favorite song on that album... could never really get into the later albums though...

I like most of there albums and some of my favourite songs by them are like a stone, Show me how to live and cochise.Im a bigger fan of Rage though, but is Audioslave still a band?Because Rage came back together lately and on most sites iv seen it says that Audioslave are still around.Does any one know

Audioslave really had something going for them. I mean they had my favourite parts of Rage (the instrumentalists) and my favourite part of Soundgarden (the vocalist). I don't own the self-titled album, but I've heard most of the songs - and they're awesome. Out of Exile is a really great album too. Revelations isn't as bad as most people say it is ... I think it was showing that Audioslave was still evolving as a band. It's too bad we'll never find out what would have become of that evolution.

No, they broke up. Chris quit because he felt he should be making a larger percentage of the money, and the other guys went back to Rage.

I think Cornell started doing more solo stuff on the side like the theme for Casino Royalle. Plus I don't think he's into all the political activism that the others are into.
So he quit...

And there was the whole Rage reunion thing.

If I'm wrong someone feel free to correct me.

Self-Titled > Out of Exile > Revelations

Revelations wasn't bad. One and the Same had a killer solo. Out of Exile is really good, and the title-track is ****ing amazing. S/T was the best though.

Mine is still Show me how to live but, revelations isn`t to bad ever.

I'm not a big Chris Cornell fan, but Audioslave had their moments.

I remember hearing Cochise for the first time and thinking, "oh ****.. this bands going to kick ass".

The self titled was a dissapointment for me, it was awesome that the funky hardcore music was still there in alot of songs, but cornell bores me to no end. I can't listen to an entire cd of him singing, it just gets on my nerves after a while, plus I felt alot of tracks were fillers.

The lead word is kind of wack too, Morello gets a bit TOO experimental for me in some audioslave songs, to the point where I can't find the melody in it. Out of exile had moments where it was almost... gay especially that "Be Yourself" song.

Revolations is the same way.. cool riffs, but nothing new.. nothign to really keep my attention.
but i'll go ahead and name some of the songs I do like

top 5 audioslave songs

cochise
the whip
doesn't remind me
like a stone
show me how to live

Chris Cornell's voice did actually drone on in a few bits I see your point, but I don't think Tom gets too experimental, its basically the same techniques applied in a different way if you know what I mean...

In my view they broke because -
- The Ex-members of Rage Against The Machine were doing a small reunion. Which would make Chris out of the spotlight and kinda seperated from the rest of the band.
- As someone said, Chris was getting back into his solo stuff (which is a disgrace to ears!)

The solo in The Curse is my favourite. The effect Morello uses makes that solo and the song brilliant

I like the song Doesn't Remind Me alot. But overall, Audioslave is just a perfectly average band for me.

Self-Titled is probably their best, though.

Cornell has such an amazing voice. His vocals on Revelations were just great, I think he quit smoking and drinking before recording that. Their 1st album is by far the best, Exploder's third verse is great writing. I think they did the right thing by dismantling. I can understand where Cornell felt left out because the other three had been together for like 16 17 years. I would definitely like Soundgarden to reform.

Also I just saw Cornell on the 9th at the Alligator Cafe. He put on a pretty good show, he played only a few of his Solo songs. Most was SG, Temple of the Dog (which was by far the best songs he played, and some Audioslave. His band is pretty decent too,

Big fan here. Out of Exile is a great song, and one of my favorite to play on bass.

On the new cd, "Jewel of the Summertime" is a great song, IMO.

I saw them in concert last year, they were awesome. Played some instrumental Rage stuff, also did some Soundgarden. Cornell sounded very good, despite hearing he's not always good live.
