SRV and Jimi are nothing alike, the only things similar is SRVs covers of hendrix, SRV's original material sounds nothing alike, and is much more blues orientated, wheras jimi's is much more rock.

The only way Jimi Hendrix and SRV were similar is that they were both masters of the guitar and soulful, charismatic performers. SRV did cover a few Hendrix songs but even when he was covering Hendrix, his sound and technique were wildly different. If you think they are the most similar guitarists, you haven't really listened to either one.
