I'm not sure about gigging with an 80 watts Peavey Transtube Bandit, so I might get a Tube amp.

Music: Classic Rock and RHCP stuff. Might also learn blues.

I might be able to order tubes through a music store here in Qatar. I'll get it if it has EQ, Gain, Volume, and Reverb knobs. Might go over 600$, but not 1000$.

Youl could probably get by with that Transtube.

I have no concept whatsoever of Qatar pricing....

The Peavey Classic 30 and Fender Hot Rod both sell for under $400 used in the US, and would both be excellent for your needs/styles.

Ok, so I can gig with the Peavey without it sounding bad cranked up?

At 80W, you should be able to keep the volume safely below ugly SS clipping. How does it fare in practice?

I'll just get the Classic 30 Peavey amp. Also, how is the size compared to the Roland Cube 30?

EDIT: I haven't bought the Peavey Transtube Bandit yet. I want to get a tube amp so that I won't be changing amps again when I go to the Philippines. I've searched vids of the Peavey Transtube Bandit on Youtube and they sound good for an SS. But Tube>SS.

The Classic 30 is physically a small amp. About the size of 15W combos like the Fender Blues Jr. Having never had a Roland Cube, I couldn't tell you. It's beefier than the Vox AD30VT, if that helps...

Alright. The Classic 30 is the right amp for me. After hearing a tube amp in youtube, I'll never switch back to SS. Anyway, can this amp be louder than a drum?

I have a Classic 30 combo. I play with a hard/classic rock band. The knobs go to "12." I rarely have the master up above "4," always have my guitar's volume rolled off a little, and still get complaints from my drummer about being too loud.

I think you'll be fine.

Thanks . Thinking of how loud you said it is, I don't think I'll be getting a new amp for awhile.
