I don't even know who Chavez is
The will to neither strive nor cry,
The power to feel with others give.
Calm, calm me more; nor let me die
Before I have begun to live.

I second that.
He's just a really bad leader, but he try to cover that up by being in the media everywhere. Some dumb people from his country might like him, but for the rest of the world is just a sad clown, and if I were from venezuela, I'd be ashamed of him.

Hugo Chavez is the (democratically elected) president of Venezuela. He's particuarily famous because America hate him, he's a "threat to democracy" according to America. Funnily enough, he nationalised their oil supplies which by most accounts did great things for a poor country.

He has good points and bad points, read about him your self :p

I was disappointed at the clothes the King was wearing.

If I was the king of a country, there would be no hesitation to revert back 100+ years ago with regards to my attire. Robes, crowns, canes, all that.

Basically, Kings should dress like upper-class pimps.

Well...the fact that there's any fuss about this at all is absurd..

I don't think that is ok, if we're going to care about it at all...

Also there's certainly a difference between Chavez and others. Apparently the offense was caused by Chavez repeatadly calling him a facist? Well, wether you agree with him or not, to Chavez that's probably a perfectly legitmate claim. Whilst "shut up" isn't...anything.

Chavez was elected by his people where as the king was given the throne through birth right... Who should I care mroe about?
#22
Chavez is not a gentleman. He isn't viewed to highly in the United States because he frowns at our foreign policy...Can you blame him. Also, people don't like him here because he is a "threat to democracy" but his people elected him. Venezuela has hardships, so he uses socialism as a government. That's better than letting the U.S. have an interest in your country. He also put limits on central banks. Anyways, the only real problems Chavez has is that he has a big mouth and he loves seeing himself on T.V.

Chavez closed 1 television company (the most important in the country) because it was agains him.
He has has prepared a referendum in order to change the constitution to do not have to leave the precidency ever....

He calls George bush demon and "Danger", and he said that the 11-S was a conspiration...

And he even though says that his government is democracy

It was actually the second largest. And it's important to remember taht this is the station which actively supported coups against him. and FAIR Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting believe that such a station would have been treated far harsher in the USA or Britain, or any rich western nation.

Unless, of course, he's voted out of power. Guess what? That's exactly the same as in Britain. Don't twist facts.

I don't think he's perfect, but he's no where near as bad as people make out. Especially Americans (This is not racism, simply obseravble fact)

Chavez and Ortega (and maybe others like Rafael Correa and Evo Morales) are a bunch of hoodlums. They genuinely have no rhetorical skills and they simply keep pushing at you until you push back so that they can call you a bully and denounce you on their government-owned TV networks.

Por que' no te callas? ... epic. I love how the king doesn't go out of his way to refer to Chavez as 'Usted' lol

Television is a powerful tool in media. Extremely. It should be governed. You think in America we would let Castro have a t.v. show?

Changing the rules to stay in power longer, not too cool.

The American people call George Bush "Demon" and "Danger."

He calls his political party "Democratic Socialism." You can't just assume that since he put a restriction on a T.V. channel that he could be some imperialistic monster. You can put certain aspects of Socialism in any Democracy. The U.S. is no stranger to that. Is it because he supports "anti-poverty" programs? What a monster.

Remember him saying this to Tony Blair:

"Don't be shameless, Mr Blair. Don't be immoral, Mr Blair. You are one of those who have no morals. You are not one who has the right to criticise anyone about the rules of the international community.

You are an imperialist pawn who attempts to curry favour with Danger Bush-Hitler, the number one mass murderer and assassin there is on the planet.

Go straight to hell, Mr Blair."

What A chump.

Britain uses a socialist system? I'm not a supporter of Chavez. I don't see a problem in focusing certain attentions to those in poverty is all. Sheesh. I don't worry about Britain at all. Those people are known for their f***ed government. Let the blue bloods **** us a bit harder please and pass me the tea. In all seriousness though, I like to see when people stand up for different policies. It shows you what people are against equality and freedom. Freedom to choose a form of government I mean.
