hey guys im in a jam here. should i get a peavey 5150/6505 combo or should i get a mesa boogie f-50 combo amp. i want an amp thats good for metal. i no the peavey is much more expensive but i hear its good. what amp should i get? is the mesa better than the randall rg50tc?

Mesa. I own both and the Mesa sounds much better than the 5150 (imo). The F-50 also has an awesome clean channel unlike the 5150 and the gain can still get heavy, maybe not as heavy as the 5150, but only slightly less, you won't notice it unless you have both side by side.

I really wasn't too much of a fan of the Randall when I played it, maybe it was just something wrong with the amp, but it didn't sound too great at all to me.
