how is this amp, compared to the epiphone valve junior combo, or other small 5w tube amps.

or how is the kustom 12 gauge amp?

i want to play blues/classic rock, mostly some clapton, i am playing with a fendre mexican fat strat, this is my first amp, but i want to just start with something that i wouldn't mind using for a while, and all i need is a small amp that i can hear in my room, no gigging. also, i only have around 100, so i am willing to buy used or off of ebay

i have one for practicing. it gets the job done. i love the clean channel but the distortion for me is too thin. for blues and stuff though you should be good. id say get it.

I wonder if it's an All tube, it doesn't say what kind of power tubes it has.
I'd just go with the tried and true epi valve junior.

It says on the description that it has a 12ax7 preamp tube.
doesn't say anything about power tubes. Spoony, since you're an owner, is it all tube or what?

the thing is, finding an epi valve junior under 100 (i know, i am being cheap and i should just save up the money, but it is a gift form my parents, and i feel bad for spending more), is possible but will take some time and patience

so is this a good buy for 100 new? will i need to upgrade to a new amp eventually? I figure if i buy a vj, then i won't need to buy a new one.

It's worth it to save up the extra cash for a much better amp in the long run.
Ask your parents for cash, mow a couple lawns (or shovel a few driveways) to come up with the remainder.
