hey hey

what effect would 0.033 caps (hovland musicaps) have on a les paul (500k pots, 3 humbuckers - 2 alnico II pro, dimarzio FRED)?
i know 0.022 are standard for LP's, but the dealer i found is the best price, and only has 0.022 and 0.01 of them, and i wanna try their "exceptional quality".

cheers all

when turned down, it'd have less treble. maybe even less high mids.

Caps are due to preference. Try some different values out, just make sure they stay close-ish to the values your talking about now.

Ya 0.033 caps will work, you will most likely not even notice the change.

Bumblee Caps are the way to go. Try and get them
lol

If you want to spend $25 or more for a tone cap, I suppose you could find worse things to spend your money on.

Just remember that a tone cap will essentially be nearly disconnected when your tone control is on 10. It's only when you roll the control down that you'll hear the slight difference between caps.

High quality paper in oil caps like the Bumblebee do make a difference as coupling caps in an amplifier. But when used in a guitar treble cut circuit, I think the difference between a decent film cap for $1 and a Bumblebee is hard to tell.

It's all a matter of priorities.
