hi UG,

I'm looking for some cool effect john uses on dani california.
I mean the effect you can hear very good at the beginning of dani cali in this live show;

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-3979746648226949027&q=red+hot+chili+peppers+werchter&total=45&start=0&num=10&so=0&type=search&plindex=0

about 8.40 dani california starts,
it sounds like the effect he uses in the interlude after the second chorus(when john sings the high part)

i like the effect and really wuld like to know what it is

thx

I think its a setting on the FM-4, theres nothing on the MM-4 that'd get that sound except maybe a leslie, and there's too much of a 'wah' sound to it for that.

OMG, awesome show! and Frusciante is amazing as always!

Is it the same effect from "Throw Away your Television"? That's a Step Phaser. Any cheap Zoom multi-effects actually does that pretty well if you don't want to shell out for a Moog. The Zoom G1 is actually pretty usable.

no... in Throw Away Your TV is Line 6 FM-4. yeah... I like my WH10. And I hope You guys will also have it

Thanks bud.

Right now, I'd kill for a WH-10, and for someone to cheer me up.

Either way, Zoom G1 is a good idea for a cheap step phaser.

Not really.

You're better off with a Small Stone or something.

A small stone doesn't do a step phaser. The effect sounds completely different.

That's the point, I don't see a Zoom pedal doing it any better though.

It does. Step Phaser is meant to sound like a computer going out of control so it doesn't really matter if it sounds "digital". I think it does it pretty well though. The G1 is surprisingly good pedal, I'm impressed with the Harmoniser and Auto-wah in particular. Just because it's cheap and digital doesn't necessarily mean it's unusable.

hi people, it's the TS here

to help some of you with a GT-8
get a look at the phaser that is in, it has 4 diffrent types;

4stages
8stages
12 stages
and Bi-phase

that last one does the trick pretty well, just adjust the settings!

i love this effect it really cool abd spacey

thanks and have fun!
