Randy>Zakk>Toni.

however, Zakk was inspired by Randy so :/ i dunno, i like all 3, but i think Iommi is most down to earth, so i'll vote him, Zakk is aswell, no idea about Rhoads.

Tony Iommi all the way. And Randy and Zakk would agree with me on that.

I can't pick between Rhoads and Iommi. But, I voted Rhoads because Crazy Train was the first solo I ever finished learning.

u forgot Jake E Lee. but mine is Iommi. He preactically invented a style, and he played with wooden fingers. With Geezer Butler and Ozzy, the band was simply amazing. Even tho Zakk has his custom Split-Tail, which is amazing!.
#13
Iommi without question, he is one of the most influential guitarists ever.

.

Rhoads is probably better than Iommi, but in the end Iommi fathered the sound of metal and if Rhoads was at the forefront of neo-classical metal, Iommi is still the king of bluesy metal.

I find that Iommi just had the best riffs, anyway. Rhoads can shred faster and uses a larger array of scales, ect, but that doesn't make up for the main riff to Sweet Leaf.

Mastering your instrument is being able to play whatever you hear in your head, unhindered by inadequate technique. After that, it's all about what you've got to say, so there would be no "best," just a bunch of people saying exactly what they mean.
#23
tony iommi. i just like his guitar work the best, even though it is less skilled. rhoads was the most skilled, though.

randy is awesome, but no matter how awesome the solos in Mr Crowley and 90% of the other songs nothing can beat war pigs, iron man, a national acrobat, hand of doom, sweet leaf, etc etc. Iommi is the king
#27
this comparison is not fair to rhoads,He died so young he never reached his full potential
#28
for me its gonna have to be zakk, just like his harmonics and his beard. hahaha

well he was great anyway, so judge him by the stuff he got around to doing.

and once again, tony iommi

Well For lead guitar it would be randy. But for his brilliant riffs that helped define/create a new genre of music, it's Tony Iommi overall

iommi.... wow. that should be the only choice.

1. left handed
2. one of his fingers got hacked and he still outriffs you
3. in their time black sabbath brought it heavier in than anyone

It depends on your definition of heavy. They're still the one of the heaviest bands around. Listen to "Shadow Of the Wind" if anyone has doubts.
