Well, I was playing For the Love of God, and I noticed that most notes on my B string above the 12th were terribly sharp (about a quarter step out!). And it appears to be the same for every string. I was reading the article on here, and I followed the instructions and it didn't seem to work. This is on a Les Paul, and when I tighten the screw (thus lengthening the string) it makes the open note flatter, but not the upper notes. Could it be because my strings are old? Thanks.

Changing strings would probably help.

^I'd let a pro look at it. Once you get into the technicalities of screws...well, it's just a place you don't want to be, friend.
