My brother plays guitar and is now looking into getting a bass. He was looking at this one: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Ibanez-GSR200-4String-Bass?sku=519524 , but I told him that he'd probably be better off getting this one: http://www.rondomusic.com/sjb753ts.html , because I've always heard that RondoMusic stuff was much better quality for the price. What do you all think would be the better choice? If there's a better bass in that $200 price range, it'd be cool if you'd let me know. Thanks.

Sounds like the SX will be much better, definitely go for that out of the two, but look into Peavey, they make fantastic stuff in that price range.

I would definatly prefer a Peavey amp to a Peavey Bass. Another option are Warick's Rock Bass Series, which are good starter basses, they can look a little quirky though, but I like them lol.

SX over low end Ibanez in my opinion. Though my opinion of the GSR200 rhymes with fleece of Brit.

SX is fantastic value for money and the company is just so easy to deal with. You get a decent bass, and if you change a few parts on it you get a downright awesome bass for much less than you'd pay for a big brand name bass.
And yet, to me, what is this quintessence of dust? Man delights not me: no, nor woman neither... nor women neither.
