Hey, I was wondering if any of you guys have seen these new active pickups by epiphone. They look pretty cool imo, and it says you can switch them to passive mode and that seems like it would be awesome if you could have an active pu and then switch it to passive when you want. So anyone else have any info on these? http://www.epiphone.com/Doctor/epiactive.html

Im not to sure about the whole switching to passive thing. Actives have fewer windings than a passive, so to switch a pickup that was designed to be active to passive would almost kill the output right?? It would be like running an EMG without a battery, Im assuming there a mix between passive and active, which sounds to me like they wont be great at one or the other, just ok
