Hi folks,
I live in Canada and am currenty assembling my first guitar kit.
I am just wondering if anyone could give me some advice on where to find suitable lacquer. Stewmac wont ship their lacquer to Canada. Has anyone, from Canada found a local supplier for something similar?
OR has anyone used the waterbased lacquers that Stewmac sells?
Thanks for the input

I've heard good things about a company called Mohawk something.

Most hardware stores in Canada can order from a distributor called Richeliue - who carry the mohawk brand of finishing supplies. I have used it on 4 guitars now and have had no problems. I go to the local building supply shop and they order in whatever I want. They have grain filler, nitro for musical instruments by the gallon or in aerosols - plus many colors of nitro in areosols. Here is the link

I think it would be fun to finish your guitar with Finnish finish.
