Well, it just occurred to me the other day how damn simple some songs are, and how they've earned the writer a truckload of money. And I was thinking - wouldn't it be great if you thought of that song first?

So post your songs here which you wish you thought of first. One little rule though, the song has to be inside your playing capability and theory.

Joe Satriani - Chords of Life (notice how its all simple technique and built around the pentatonic scale?)

Yarghh....

Wish I had thought of What I Got-Sublime

That song would get me so much money/sex/drugs(even though I don't do them)
#3
Again Satriani....Always with me, always with you

I can play almost all of it. I have issues with the interlude.

Oh, and I wish I was black so I could've written Ice Cube's NWA songs.

dethklok's bloodtrocuted.

this is sort of a case of i did write it. I made a riff pretty similar to the verse riff, although it had a more hard rock feel to it. But it sounds to similar to use now.

but i wish i had thought of texas flood. Its such a simple song, but the simple parts all add up to make it this complicated masterpiece.

Haha, that happened to me yesterday.
I was adding some more to a song I was writing then I went to listen to some stuff I hadn't heard in a while... Then it hit me. I had written the intro to Scum by Napalm Death.

"Holy Wars" by Megadeth. My f*ck I love that song and wish it was mine. It's just constant awesome riff after awesome riff with great soloing, especially the last solo that Mustaine does.

I don't really wish a song to be mine, or written by me. I just like to appreciate what another person has created. I mean, you can make good music too, as long as you like it. Plus, there's nothing like singing your own song. OG tunes is where it's at.
