Depends on your other gear and what styles you're into. I bought one without properly testing it first, and later realized it doesn't suit me at all. Actually, I don't understand why this pedal receives so much praise.

Its a good pedal, I liked the tones....But the only niggle is that top-boost jobbie. All i got from that was waaay too much gain and horrible feedback.

Me either. This seems to be the pedal of choice around here for some reason. When I worked at a music store I tried to steer people away from this pedal and check out other things. A lot of people ended up returning the Metal Muff with Top Boost because they kept dieing. We even got a demo Metal Muff from EHX for the store and the thing died within a couple days. Its got a tight distortion, but it sounds thin and fizzy. There's way too much gain on tap, past 12 o'clock and this thing sounds like a mess. I know I've said this many times on here, the Top Boost is a joke.
