hey

i've had this problem with my computer for a while

basically if i play a sound eg. a song, it will be fine but then every couple of mins or so it will slow down for a couple of seconds then resume as normal

it only seems to happen when im connected to the internet which is wierd

i've made a video demonstrating the problem here
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=GLsHK5_JnRY

i think it might be a crappy sound card (it came with my PC)

any help would be great

thanks

its fairly new

processor:
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6300 @ 1.86GHz (one of those duo core ones)

1 gig of RAM

147 gigs of free hard drive space

we use AOL
and its a wireless connection which isn't very strong in my room atm so we need one of those things that spreads the signal around the house

still though, i don't see why the internet should affect the sound coming from my hard drive

probably a conflict between the sound card and the wireless adaptor. i had a soundcard that refused to let my motherboard power down, so it would suspend then turn back on!! either replace the sound card or the wireless adaptor.

umm.. well thats new

i'd properly go with what that guy said, my guess would of been that there is something chewing up your processor heaps for 2 seconds witch is causing your music to slow down because it cant process it quick enough.

and the weak wireless link could be the cause but don't listen to me on that since I've never had a wireless connection so i'm not to helpful with wireless

i found a website which appears to have a similar problem with the belkin n1 router

http://www.engadget.com/2006/05/01/belkins-n1-pre-n-wifi-line/

look for shibal22 in the comments.

one of the replies mentions upgrading the firmware, are you sure all of the firmware is up to date? on both your router and your sound card?

wow thats great

what should i install then to rectify the problem? and where do i get them from?
(sorry i don't have a clue about technical stuff)

i'm not completely sure to be honest.
first i would go to the realtek website and see if you can find something that applies to your soundcard and then i would try the belkin site for the router
but im not sure about the correct way of doing this, maybe someone else can give some more information

This is off-topic, but I saw your TSL review once when I searched it on youtube.
