Well I'm going to be wanting to buy an acoustic guitar for Christmas. But I don't know what brand to get, anyone know a good/decent brand of acoustic guitars?

You'll have to give us a bit more information. From what you've given me, I could recommend a Maton 808 Artist Series for £2,300, or a yamaha FG700S for £120.

These questions would help a lot;

1) What type of music do you want to play?
2) Do you want an acoustic or an electro-acoustic?
3) What is your budget?

If you can afford this (http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/en/yamaha-fg750-s/68628) then I doubt there'll be many people on this forum who disagree with me. It's generally regarded to be the best beginner acoustic there is. It really is top notch. And for under £200 you can't go wrong.

Washburn are good. At a guitar exhibition i tried out a hell load of guitars, and in te acoustic section, Taylor, Colt Clark, Washburn are all superb, and they look good. But i am not sure on their costs, sorry about that.

1) What type of music do you want to play?- I will be playing acoustic pieces along the lines of Elliot Smith, Three Days Grace, anythnig meta acoustic/rock acoustic.
2) Do you want an acoustic or an electro-acoustic?-Doesn't really matter.
3) What is your budget?-I don't intend on spending anymore then 350-400.
