I predict rock band being a huge hit. Although for kids with severe add might have difficulty keeping up because of all the different activities going on the screen . I know i am buying it because its a party game and i like to be social. What do you guys think?

Yeah, it really does. The only things I'd want to play are Run to the Hills, Paranoid, Learn to Fly and Tom Sawyer.

Enter Sandman is a good song, I just got SOOOOO sick of it after a while. Plus, If i want to play Paranoid I'll just play GH3.

Z-Edit: Actually, I'm not going to say the setlist is terrible, it just needs some more pizazz.

It sucks that Canada got a delay. I'm sure we'll see a few US copies up here though, if not, I'll buy like 5 and make a bit of profit.

the maiden on it is good, could use more, but they cover it so horribly, atleast on GH2 they did, The Trooper sounded nothing like maiden, i hope they did a better job, i think ill get Rockband just because it looks like it could be good with some better songs, but $200 for the complete set with everything but a bass is alot of money

The setlist is pretty awful, but then again they do have the greatest band of all time on there, so that'll make up for it. It'll be fun to play either way. With Rock Band the tracklist doesn't need to be strong, it's just fun to play your respective instrument.

I don't think the playlist is very good.

Although I'm looking at it through a 'i'm a girl and i suck at anything that involves a controller and my guy mates can't sing so i'll just have to do vocals' perspective.

Welcome Home would be fun though.

High five to that! Yeah, I'm gonna need to find a good singer too. I don't wanna hear AUUUAUAUAUAUAAUAUGH while I'm playing.

Apparently you can turn up the original vocal track and turn down the person who's actually singing, so if your singer sucks you can sort of compensate.

It looks like it'd be a lot of fun. But I dunno- if you end up with 4 people who play together a lot, I think they should just play real instruments. It seems like it'd be pretty sweet for a party type game though.

haha, unfortunately, that'll be me on some of those songs. anything thats inbetween very deep vocals that can be sung an octave higher and vocals within the female range will be impossible ><

I know some of my guy mates were all 'oh you don't need other people at your house cos you can just do it online' well wheres the fun in that?

I'm inviting myself around the house of whoever gets it first out of my friends. Shame its not meant to be out in europe until 2008

I heard a horrible speech in speech clss the other day about why it's better than GH3. You can buy full albums for it, can't you? and it has more tracks available for sale immediately than GH3.

But it was the worst speech ever...

I wish the drums were more complicated. I watched some videos and I'd rather play real drums.

The play list is sooo bad. Two good songs is NOT enough for that steep, steep price. Sure, there are six more avaible for purchase later, but they are expensive too!

It's just not worth it to me; not with those songs in it.
#24
i played it. it wasn't that great. at least the bass and the gutiar parts. vocal parts were interesting, but the drums were just brutal.

if it'll be for ps2 than i'll get it

The PS2 version isn't coming out until December. Only the 360 and PS3 versions are coming out soon.

And, I think it'll be cool, but I won't have the $200 to spend for quite some time.

I'm REALLY liking the guitar, especially with its extensive features, and the drum peripheral looks cool, but other than that, I'm pretty sure I can wait.

i'll just have to play with friends

Can't afford a whole new system and I don't feel like spending that much on the game so no.

It's got some great songs on it. "Gimme Shelter" has the best inro of all time, IMO. It also has my favorite Weezer song of all time on it. That makes it a great playlist, for me.
#31
I don't feel like paying $1,000,000 to buy that game, although I hog it up for like an hour when I'm hanging out with my friends at best buy. It pisses off little kids who are waiting in line to play it...

There are actually only a few songs on the tracklist that I dont like. Foreplay/Long Time would be pretty fun.

Good tracklist or not... Id rather spend time getting better at real bass and guitar. And hopefully practising with my real band...

Like, Guitar Hero is fun for parties once in a while. But a game with the whole band... Like... I dunno. it's a good idea... But... Yeah....
#34
I definitely won't be buying it as I only have a gamecube ATM. I would definitely rather buy GH3 anyways. I say an interview with one of the games designers on youtube and she actually said, "One of the best features of the game is instead of needing real instruments you only need the controllers which, unlike other real instruments, can just be stashed under your bed." They are acting like rock band is the new way to play music or something which is ridiculous as it requires no talent whatsoever. I swear to God if people start having Rock Band concerts...

The drums for the game are Insanely fun and are nice and precise down to the last small drum beat. This is perfect for me because i'll never play drums in a real band.
#37
The set list is the best so far out of all the Guitar Heroes. I hate all the classic rock stuff they put in there, so to have all the modern songs, even if I grew out of a lot of them (Strokes, Hives, Killers) when I was 13 only makes it better. + Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Pixies, Weezer, etc is pretty awesome.

Then again, these games are fun to play, not because of the songs, just because it is fun to play. This track list, I think, will only make it better to play.
#38
I can think of a better way to spend 500 bucks.

Buy a new guitar > rockband
