i just reciently started listening to some stevie ray vaughn and i have become really interested in playing it now. but im having a hard time with it. like i can do the blues licks ok but it still seems like its missing something. o and what would be some good amp settings for blues? im using a marshall vintage modern half stack and a fender strat

If you're playing SRV, then make sure to "rake" the strings. That is, strum everything and mute the strings you don't want sound from. As for the amp, less treble, some mids and a good amount of bass. Set the gain to your liking.
