EHX tubes are pretty mediocre from what I've read, It sounds awesome still and they've all I've ever heard in it. I'm gonna get JJ's when it's time for a change.

it's mostly touching or getting close enough to the filter caps (big blue round things) that could get ya.

oh... would having one hand behind your back (electricians rule) help or would you still pretty much get fried?

I was really expecting those caps to be bigger. They look huge in older amps but I've only seen in pics. I'm also wondering what makes the "fake" overdrive in modern amps. Is it something to do with those four diodes in the third pic down? And what's that big black thing above them?

Edit: Wait.. I don't think the caps are the filter caps, should they be on the preamp board? Could they be those two black ones in the bottom corner of the power board?

I cant quite remember why you should put your hand behind your back

But using your right arm helps.

^ the theory to using one arm is that you dont complete a circuit so to speak and you dont get shocked... the right arm thing is news to me though
