I have an Ibanez GAX30. Just wondering if can handle these heavy strings. Or will it mess up my neck and whatnot? Any help is appreciated.

It will be able to handle them, but will probably need a truss rod adjustment along with an action and intonation tweak

Figure I might as well use this thread to ask a related question.

If I use heavier strings than my guitar is set up for, then switch back to its "proper" gauge, will I need to re-intonate and adjust the action and truss rod and whatnot?

Why would you be doing this?

I have 12s on it right now, none of the stores seem to have Elixirs in 10-52 so I had to settle for the next best thing.

Beyond the setup issues though, I want to switch back to 10s - I can pretend to be manly all I want but it's nigh-impossible for me to bend on 12s.

Ah I see. Well did you mess with the action etc when you put the 12's on? If so, you will have to un-mess with it when you switch back to 10's

How would I know what needs to be tweaked?

Truss rods are a pain, look at my other thread to know why. :/

No, I didn't touch anything - just strung 'em on and started playing.

I should be good, then?
