Nope, i don't think so. You can move more air with the extra speakers which would seem louder but it actually won't be. Don't quote me on that though.

Also, as long as the amp has an external speaker jack and it is the same OHM as the cabs and you have a decent speaker cable then it should be fine.

Wow... actually a couple of posts without MG bashing.

Just make sure the head's output impedance and the speaker impedance is the same.
And make sure ur using a high quality speaker cable, because if you use a piece of junk from a dollar store or something, you have a risk of the cable shorting out then blowing your amp because it's not connected to anything.

^ if using the external speaker out doesnt cut off the internal speaker he'll be fine, but I'm not sure if it does that or not on the mg
