so me and a friend tried to use his toneport on my laptop one day, we installed it properly and all was fine, except when we tried to open ableton live it showed the black screen with the colourful circles then completely froze.

the only difference between my pc and his is that mine has vista.

is this the problem? and does anyone have any similar experiences/advice?

much appreciated

Was it plugged into a USB 2.0 port or 1.1 port?

Does it say in the manual what operating systems it is compatible with?

Well, if they haven't already, I'm sure line 6 will release a software update sometime soon... if not, XP is the way back to go.

yeah just go for a downgrade to xp. vista is going to be crap for a while until they release vista versions of everything, it was the same when they upped to windows 2000

They will probably release an update for it soon.
They'd be stupid not to really.
Or perhaps they plan to release a new peice of hardware for use with vista.
