When I restring my guitar, I usually just pull it in and tune it and cut the excess. Now I know that's not good, and I'm trying to fix that. How do I get two full rotations around the tuning post? I have a Gibson style bridge.
Go here. Best video tutorial I've seen. Doesn't matter that it's done on an acoustic guitar, just so you know.
Just don't pull the string tight through the tuner, leave 2 frets worth of slack and then bend it at the post.
