I just got into playing guitar about a month ago. I'm having trouble memorizing the chords. Does anybody know any exercises I can do to learn them?

Thanks

play the chord
take your hands off the guitar
and re finger the chord
dont play another chord until you can do that with no trouble
but other than that just practice

I know it sounds cliche, but seriously, practice, practice, practice. Sit down with a handful of progressions, and just keep playing those progressions over and over again until you can do the changes at lightning speed.

only thing i found that makes it easier is to learn chords by just playing songs, not by playing the chords over and over on their own. for example start with a song with 3 chords, get it down, add another chord, get it down. Till you've built up a decent enough chord vocabulary to start to understand where certain chods are on the neck, why they're there, how they work with each other, after that its a doddle.
