So as the title says, im having problems re-wiring my Tele-copy.

I folowed the diagram on the SD website.

when the phase switch is off, no sound whatsoever comes out.
but when its on, sound comes out, but only when both pickups are selected.

any help/diagrams/constructive criticsism is appreciated.

When you say "the phase switch is off" do you mean in phase or out of phase?

Try wiring the phase switch with the neck pickup instead of the bridge pickup. Something in the back of my head is thinking it might be something with the way tele bridges are grounded, but don't quote me on that.

Well i was reading in a Guitarworld about the guy from the Police's tele, and his has a phase switch for the bridge pickup.

but im gonna try and rewire it today.

Edit: Well im in the midst of re-wiring the guitar, and I noticed a something that i did before. I ran a ground wire on the tops of the pots. I dont know if that would make any difference but yeah.

and also i wanted to ask: If the neck pup has 3 wires (hot, ground, bare), what do i do with the bare if im going to have the neck pup be switchable?

Well ive progressed further in this project.

I purchased a better quality switch and re-wired the guitar, and read up on phase stuff. Now when the bridge pickup is out of phase, no sound comes out except for the neck pickup, which doesnt sound different at all.

Any comments? Questions? Advice?
