I have finally narrowed my new guitar down to a stratocaster, but I'm having difficulties choosing a strat. As far as Fender goes, I'm pretty much choosing between:

Fender Classic Player '60s Stratocaster
Fender Lite Ash Stratocaster
Fender Koa Stratocaster
Fender Deluxe Player's Stratocaster

Out of those, I'm leaning closest to the Classic Player '60s (tri-sunburst ), but I'll probably go used because I don't want to spend over $700. But for some reason, the fact that there are other strats out there that aren't made by Fender has just hit me in the crotch after months of guitar searching. I like the idea of a non-Fender stratocaster because I'd probably be able to get better quality for less, due to the non-Fender name.

I was hoping someone could link me to a QUALITY non-Fender stratocaster. I want a good guitar here. Good pickups are a must. They are probably the most important thing to me at this point. I need great stock pups. I play mainly classic rock, blues, and some hard rock. (Rush, AiC, Black Sabbath, SRV, Cream, Velvet Revolver, Audioslave, Scorpions, Pink Floyd, Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, The Who...)

Thank you.

I know PRS makes a nice Strat copy, but it's probably expensive.
Epiphone Riviera Jorma Kaukonen Deluxe
Orange Tiny Terror with a Mesa 2x12 Lone Star
Boss PH-3
Jekyll & Hyde Ultimate Overdrive
Dunlop Crybaby 535Q
Boss DD-20
Fender Deluxe Mexi-Jazz

There's also the MIJ strats.

Japan , I hear, has even better quality then even American strats.

American pickups though, are still unrivaled.

Oh yeah!!! the PRS SE series!

Nah man, they're perfectly in your budget and they're absolutely wonderful guitars.

$500, made in Korea, with some really great pups too.

one thing though, they aren't really a strat copy. They're strat esque though.

Here's some of my favorite ones:

^ Yeah, I've played the soapbar II. I liked it, especially the litte groove it has where it sits on your knee. I just thought the pickups made too much noise when I wasn't playing. I was using a Blues Jr. too. Other than that I like the guitar a lot. I don't know why PRS discontinued it.

Check out Tokai. A couple months ago I saw a Tokai strat with a floyd on it and a bucker and what have you, for only $350.

Good for you. Have a cookie.

But really... there's no cookie. And if there was, you wouldn't get one.
