Can anyone point me to any online lessons or such for whammy pedal use?

I have a whammy feature on my MFX, which I've never used.
It has loads of crazy options like octave doubling and two octave pitch shifting and stuff.
What settings do most people use for solos?
How does it differ from a pitch shifter?

I was thinking of using one for crazy high squeals like in Vader solos.
Cheers.

It's not a lesson as such, but check out Joe Satriani's 'Searching' Possibly one of the coolest uses of a whammy pedal I've seen

Google is a useful resource.
Ultimate Guitar is an even better one.
No thanks for the advice.

I don't know if you'll like it, but Jack White (White Stripes) uses it an almost every song, and all 3 guitarists of Radiohead use it as wel (you can hear it really good in the beginning of Paranoid Android)

Really?
I like Radiohead but I'm trying to think where it occurs in Paranoid Android

Anyway, I was thinking of a more shred solo style - an ear-piercing squeal!!

Well your guitar has a whammy bar, so you can get your squeals from whammy harmonics. You'll need to do harmonics to get a scream with the pedal too, I'd imagine.

Anyway, screamodream has the best advice. Google around, it'll be much quicker than waiting for someone here with sufficient know how to give you a good guide. There must be a manual in PDF format available, which'll help.

Im too much of a fanboy to admit that i didnt buy it because of that song. I bought my pedal specifically for that song. I also like the stuff Tom Morello does so it was a good investment.
