Fingering for this? [down+upstrokes]

It's off the song 'Like Light to Flies' by Trivium.

Looking at it I would try something like 4-3-1-3-1-4-3-1-4-3-1-3-3-4-3-1. But really, just do what feels comfortable.

I second that

I'd start on an up, hit that d note (5th fret G string) with a down, hit the c note (8th fret e string) with an up and just alternate from there.

edit: again, just do what's comfortable

As well, what are the down and upstrokes for it? thanks

I would strictly alternate pick it (down up down up). If it were something more complicated, than I might economy pick it. This is pretty basic though.
