Any suggestions?

Im thinking either the Gibson Explorer or the ESP EX-400.

The pick guard on the Gibson turns me off a little on the black model.

Which one has the better stock pickups? I have a Micro Cube as an amp if it matters at all.

I also would like to get one with a trem, and was thinking about getting a custom ESP one with a floyd on it.

Thanks for help.

The EX-400 has EMG 81/60 setup which is really good for modern rock/metal.

I'm not too familiar with Gibson pups, but they can always be replaced if you like the instrument itself better.

A custom ESP would cost you quite a bit.

I'd get a better amp before considering dropping that kind of money on a guitar.

Get the EX-400. Tis amazing.

But if you want a Floyd, forget about Explorers.

If you're going to NEED a tremolo bar, absoloutly, then get the ESP, because then you wouldn't have to do any modifications to the wood on the Gibby if you buy the gibby to put in a tremolo. If you don't absolutely need a tremolo bar, then get the gibson.

I'd take a look at getting a Hamer Standard Korina.

^I'd let a pro look at it. Once you get into the technicalities of screws...well, it's just a place you don't want to be, friend.

Well there IS the Peavey Rotor EX... I've actually heard some good things about it. But I would still rather have an EX-400.
