Hi, im looking for a tube amp to upgrade my MG100 , I have about a 700-800 dollar budget, I'll be using it mostly to play rock (lead guitarist), and I'll be practicing and playing gigs with it, so Im guessing I'll need at least 30w. Thanks for the help.

What kind of rock?

The usual suspects will probably work for you:

Peavey Classic 30, 50, or Delta Blues
Traynor YCV 40 or 50
Fender Hot Rod or Blues Deluxe
Used Vox AC30 or Mesa F30/50
You Don't Need a halfstack.

You Don't Need 100W.

Aw come on! Your not gonna get any amp over 30w for under 800 dude......:P

Just kidding.
Look at some secondhand Peavy 5150's, or a nice Rivera combo....that should do the trick!

Yes, what kind of rock? And are cleans important?

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me

maybe you're not saying the right things? an amp likes to know you care.

I wanna get a Queens of The Stone Age kinda tone outta the amp, and yeah, clean is pretty important. So far the Fender Hot Rod Deluxe looks like my #1
