I currently have a Squier standard. I need help deciding what I should get for Christmas.

I like playing classic rock and roll, but I really like playing all styles of music.

I'm left handed, and my price range is really nothing past $650.

I'm not exactly sure with this one, I think I would go with a lefty strat, get the deluxe one with Noisless pickups, unless that doesnt come in lefty, I think thats around $600. I would stay away from epiphone les pauls, because of the stock pickups, and other things that I could just go on and on with, but I wont waste your time.

Iceman, I have a Marshall amp, I can't recall the name of it but it's good quality.
Thanks for the suggestions. I know there's a lot of similar threads but I really do need help because there's less than 50 lefties on each site to chose from.

Also, Instant Karma, the only deluxe strat I could find, on Musicians friend, cost $1200, but I do like the idea of getting a stratocaster.

actually you can go wrong with a strat. LES PAUL!!!

Actually you can't go wrong with a strat (as in real quality, not plywood copy) You can however go wrong with a les paul, yes they may sound great and some think they feel good BUT gibson's quality control has been going down.

also you'll have a marshall MG get a new amp I know what you're thinking "But I want a new guitar the amp won't do anything" but trust me, a good amp will make you sound a ton better.

I've got a Rogue Gs100r and the Marshall isn't here right now because my brother has it.( reason why I can't remember the name, it's not on their site)

I'm almost convinced on a Fender Standard but I'm sure there are some better models for more.

No I'm not Jesus. I would aspire to be though. I think under circumstances he would let you pay less if you needed to.

I'm a little unsure on Les Pauls, and I can't afford anything Gibson if that's what you're hinting.

This is the one that I meant : http://www.guitarcenter.com/Fender-Deluxe-Player-s-Stratocaster-Electric-Guitar-511597-i1147164.gc

I dont think that comes in lefty so i would go with either this one:
http://www.guitarcenter.com/Fender-Standard-Stratocaster-Left-Handed-Electric-Guitar-516038-i1148859.gc

Or theres a $700 tele. You can go to guitarcenter.com and click on lefty fenders and you should find about 10 that might suit you, although some are over $1000

What about a Schecter C-1? Most non-Diamond Series Schecters come in left-handed models, but the C-1 is the only one I can think of in your price range.
Epiphone Dot Studio
Peavey Valve King 112 (w/ Eminence Texas Heat)
Digitech Hot Head
Dunlop Cry Baby GCB-95
Elixir .010-.052

^think InstantKarma already posted that one, but you can't really go wrong with a Strat.

Or, you know, if you don't care about the knobs being on the wrong side, you could get some sort of archtop.
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Epiphone-Dot-SemiHollow-LeftHanded-Electric-Guitar?sku=518707
^left-handed model, the only one I've seen. You could also get a normal Dot, or Dot Studio, or maybe even a Sheraton, and just flip the strings. Or maybe even a Ibanez Artcore of some sort.

EDIT: man, this one here is probably all you need: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Hagstrom-Swede-Left-Handed-Electric-Guitar?sku=513341

check the right-handed Hagstroms for pics.

^ its funny how biased people are, there's nothing wrong with a les paul(if its gibson) but since you said you cant afford that, go with a strat i suppose.

Seeing that guitar I really wish they made a left-handed model.

Also, in addition to the Rogue Gs100r amp I have which I have said before, my other amp is a Marshal Valvestate. I'm not sure of the exact model name but it looks like this...

I might hold off on a new guitar until my birthday in summer, though. After all, I'm still a begginer and I don't need a new guitar just yet, but thanks for everything, guys.

I would suggest an HSS Strat for a little more versatility.
Heads will roll. Throats will be slit. Blood will flow like springs of water.

Go for an Epi SG, I assume there's a lefty one; and their most def under the limit spending range.

Good Luck!
