I never played one or three, so I can only speak for two.

I think Laid To Rest (Lamb Of God) was the worst. The Guitar is okay, but the vocals are an absolutely pitiful attempt at matching the original.

For guitar work, I think Hangar 18 was the worst. The tempo remains fairly constant in the real thing, but the tempo is jumping all over the place in Guitar Hero.

What are you guy's opinions?

any of the songs that they added solos to. IMO, thats just not right. they should've picked songs that would be fun to play as is.

...You're still disappointing them...
#4
yea the solo they added to "mother" pisses me off... the keyboard solo woulda been more fun. Hell, they took a song with no guitar ("Less talk more rokk") and put it in the game. why not make a keyboard solo playable?
#7
Guitar Hero 1 - Take Me Out - Franz Ferdinand, The vocals were terible

Guitar HEro II - Mother - Danzig, and Heart Shape Box. They both were bad.

Guitar Hero III - Just got it today, but it seems pretty decent.

rage against the machine - killin the name of

The singer that they chose to sing that song sounds like he should be singing showtunes. Its supposed to be "KILLIN' IN THA NAME OFF!!!" and he makes it "Killing In The Name Of."

forgot about that one.

And how they screwed up the ending.. That was lame.

I forgot about the solo they added to Heart Shaped Box. I actually like that, as the original solo sounds like (to quote Dave Grohl) "a f*cking abortion hit the floor"

I never played 1....

Guitar Hero 2- Definitely Beast and the Harlot. Granted not everyone likes A7X's singer's voice, but good god. The singers for this song sounded like pedophiles.

Guitar Hero 3- The biggest disappointment for me would probably be La Grange. I miss the real voice of ZZ Top

Sweet Child O' Mine... the dude totally ruined the vocals. Love him or hate him, you can't replicate Axl... and no one should try.
#24
I forgot what Incubus song it was on the first one but wow were the vocals screwed up. It sounded like they hired an 11 year old to do it. Terrible terrible work red octane.
#25
Freebirds vocals sucked unbelievably, but not as bad as the vocals for Laid to Rest. Go on youtube, and compare the last time that the guy [tries to] scream "FAILUUURE!" To the original.

Haha, not to rip on you but "that dude" was Axl himself, they used the master track for that one, most of GH3 used master tracks actually.

yea it was stellar. it sounded like a bad punk song.

P.S. Redoctane really doesn't have anything to do with the covers. they're handled by a company called Wave Group i think.

i think that even though some of the songs dont sound like the original singer, they are still decent covers. but some of them are horrible. beast and the harlot and pride and joy pretty much make me sick lol

I like how everyone is saying that laid to rest was the worst, I got curious and checked out the real version and laughed my ass off at the vocals. I thought it was a joke or something. And the lyrics come on. I actually thought the guitar hero version was better (and I hate that song the most on that game)

RATM - killing in the name

It sounds fugly compared to the original, he doesn't scream mother****er towards the end and it's just... oh god
