If i want to record my 5150 2x12 combo into my Line 6 TonePort UX2, should i run a cable from the external speaker output to the line, normal, or pad input on my TonePort? I'm asking this before i break anything, because to be honest with you, I really don't know what I'm doing. Any help appreciated

You use a microphone into the toneport positioned to one of the speakers of the combo.

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me

maybe you're not saying the right things? an amp likes to know you care.

Nothing that won't mess it up. You can't plug the speaker out into a computer, you'd be sending the 60 watts of the amp into your computer which isn't capable of handling that. You need a headphone/recording out on the amp to do that.
