I use 10's for standard tuning, because I can't stand 9's. I'm considering moving up to 11's though...

this brings me to a question...how do i tell what gauge they are? i know my highest string is 0.009 inches thick..and they are super light d'addarrios nickelplated steel iirc

Surely going for a thicker string will create more buzz.

Set up your guitar correctly next time

10s. 11s for tuning down, but 11s are too heavy to bend on normal tuning.

While I agree that his guitar needs to be set up correctly, the increase of tension from moving up a gauge of strings could reduce fret buzz. I've heard it from other people and when I switched from 9's to 10's I was able to lower the action of my guitar.

Well it depends on the cause of the string buzz.

For example my jag buzzed alot with a lighter gauge because there wasnt enough pressure on the bridge causing the crappy screws to buzz.

skinny top heavy bottom. It's 52-10. I LOVE those strings.
Heads will roll. Throats will be slit. Blood will flow like springs of water.

Depends what kind of buzz, really. If it's genuine string buzz, then yes, a thicker gauge could probably aid it. But for other types, like fret buzz, I'd expect a larger string gauge to buzz more. Whatever.

10-46 + 59 on my 7

I do have plans to change to 0,095 though.

I know I went from 11s or 10s to 9s and now, I get tons of buzz on my A string in standard. How can I fix this? Ive already raised the action and it helped.
