A new acoustic. I'm looking for a solid solid top of the line acoustic. I would prefer it an acoustic/electric but I want it to have a sound hole. I thought the board could help me find the best sounding guitar.

Is top of the line $1000 or $5000? What kind of music do you play?

When it comes down to it, its all personal choice in that price range.

Gear:
Partscaster/Tele into a bunch of pedals, a Maz 18 head, and a Z Best cab.

I would like to keep it under 3500. I play mostly rock, but I also play Ben Harper, Jack Johnson etc.

Ok, have a look at this then.

It's the Yairi DYM95CAURA. It has a custom Fishman Aura system installed and is ready to rock. The Yairi line of Alvarez are very fine instruments, all hand built in Japan by master luthier Kazuo Yairi and his staff. Their tonewood selection is incredible to say the least. You can of course go with a very nice Martin D-28 for approx. $3000, but you'll get more bang for your buck with the Yairi. But don't limit yourself to those two choices. Have a look at Taylor, Breedlove, Santa Cruz. All make some high end beautiful instruments. Play before you buy if at all possible.
