Id say that a fuzz is in order for Hendrix, maybe even for Zepp. Dunlop i think sells a Fuzz face, which is very close to what Hendrix used. If u want an OD tho, check out a TubeScreamer or a Jekyll and Hyde.

EDIT: for a better Hendrix tone, u might wanna put new pups in w/e Strat u have. Humbuckers tend to not do Hendrix too well.

I agree that for a Hendrix tone yo want a fuzz pedal rathar than an OD. I'm not a big fan of the Dunlop fuzz though, it's quite harsh sounding compared to the original one. Try a few fuzz pedals though and maybe some octave fuzz pedals

Didn't Hendrix use the Big Muff at some point?
Happy, lost and still unaware.

I gave my brother a hand job. It was weird at first. It was weirder after.

Hendrix tryed a prototype for it, it was also modeled somewhat after his tone

I think a Big Muff would be a good pedal to use to be able to pull off either or the best you can, of course its not going to be perfect.

It was released a year after he died, but allegedly he tried (and liked) the prototyope.
