Songs concerning lonliness, acceptance surroding mental retardation (school project)

What are some songs that concern not being accepted, and being lonely and something focusing on Society and mental retardation?

This is for a school project on "Of Mice and Men", and I'm thinking of using some Frusciante stuff because alot of that is about being lonely.

The Smiths - How soon is now?

"There's a club if you'd like to go
you could meet somebody who really loves you
so you go, and you stand on your own
and you leave on your own
and you go home, and you cry
and you want to die"

If you wanna play on that title go with "Of Wolf and Man" - Metallica.

Behind Blues Eyes by The Who.

Seeing as you're a Frusciante fan I would have thought Under the Bridge may work too.

Beyond the Realms of Death by Judas Priest.

Coma by Guns N Roses perhaps.

A few off the top of my head.

i guess a lot of alternative stuff deals with loneliness, like, as already mentionned, the Smiths, and bands like Smashing Pumpkins. And the JF idea is good too.

Definately The Smiths.

Smashing Pumpkins

"To Forgive" "In The Arms of Sleep" "Soma" (maybe) "Ugly"

Actually I'm looking for songs about acceptance and such
I'll look into The Smiths, but I have none of their cds

I'd say...Of Mice and Men by Megadeth.

Hm..
When a man lies he murders some part of the world
These are the pale deaths which men miscall their lives
All this I cannot bear to witness any longer
Cannot the kingdom of salvation take me home?

The Dead Milkmen - Takin' Retards to the zoo.

I'm not sure what you mean by lonliness and mental retardation...
BRIGHT LIGHTS PUT ME IN A TRANCE.

Would I be right in saying, maybe Screamo type bands?

Try My Dying Bride.

"My Hope The Destroyer", "The Prize Of Beauty" and "The Raven And The Rose" are noticeable songs.

you could blast chiodos and stand in front of the whole class hunched over with your hair in your eyes. then everyone would know you're not accepted
I can't stand watching people waste their money on horrible gear.

Well I was on school internet and wasn't really able to explain my project

I'm supposed to do a project on Mental Retardation and it's role in Society and stuff

My teacher recommended this song by Garth Brooks, which I don't remember the name, but it's about a mentally challenged person that gets knocked down and he has to get up and the theme of the song is about "fire" or something.
In the video the boy is in some sort of competition and falls down on a hurdle and the rest of the people go back and help him...

but I don't want to use that song

Also, overused but maybe Mad World?

It's all about being lonely and not understanding the world going by in front of you.
