ok, so i'll be on MSN, and all of a sudden someone who is offline will start talking to me. the first thing they say is usually something stupid like "this looks like you" or "yes, i think my eyes are f**ked up", and then right after that a zipped file will be sent to me, awaiting my download conformation.
my friend thought i had a virus, so i did i virus scan. all that came up was something about my system tray but the AVG Anti-Virus fixed it.
just thought you guys might be able to help.
(and also, i've also noticed that the offline conversation is always popping up with the same person, if it helps)

NEVER accept anything on a zip file or whatever until you have confirmation that it is a file that your friend actually wants you to have...
This is a virus.. always have been always will be

BTW: if youre the one receiving the messages its them that has a virus not you, as long as you dont accept it, you should be ok

yeah, your friend has a virus, and them being offline is just them on the appear offline status

or, viruses don't need the user to be online on MSN once it's got the friend/contact email list.
