hey there, im getting a humbucker pickup coil-tapped (with a push pull pot). and since i dont know a whole lot about the mechanics of coil-tapping, i was wondering if it would be worthwhile getting the innards of the guitar copper shielded, as single-coil players do?
coil tap or coil split? I'm assuming you mean coil splitting, because you made reference to single coils, which is (basically) what a humbucker becomes when split. Anyways, if the guitar hums alot, then go for it. If not, personally, I'd probably do it anyways just to be sure it won't hum in other rooms I'll be playing in (with more chances of electrical interference)
yeah, as i said, i dont know much about coil tapping or splitting. what is the difference?
