Ok. so my macbook pro (2005 or 2006(cant remember) is intel based and every time it reaches around %50 battery life it shuts down without warning, no screen pops up, the computor just dies. WHAT IS WRONG!!?!?!?!
p.s. i watch alot of porn, could a virus do this from a site like that?

"It just works..."

run every virus/spyware scan you can find.

But I'd assume it's a hardware failure.

actually, yeah, the porn is probably the biggest reason. do what lemoninfluence said and run spyware/antivirus... try AVG, its free and it's running on mine just fine.

Me neither, due to him not being alive and all.

ok i think i deleted my antivirus. what could be wrong with the hardware? i somethimes put it on my bed and my dad says that it could burn out the harddrive. could this be true? i cant afford to let him be right OR get a new HD.
#8
its not a virus problem. the same thing happened with mine. you just need to go to the apple store and get a new battery.
#9
There was something in the news (the mac news) about them acknowledging hardware defaults, and if your thing is still under guarantee take it back.

ask in the forums there, or on the apple site.

If you put it on the bed and the sheets cover the cooling vents it could overheat.

But my guess is that the battery has malfunctionned.

nooo run basic troubleshooting first, try resetting the PMU and other devices just look on the apple troubleshooting site first. if you try all these and the battery still does the same just ring up and they will send you a new one, if your in warranty if not your gona need to spend like £90 on a new battery :\

oh the battery seems fine; the lights say that its at half life

but if it was malfunctioning then it could show 50% when it was actually at say 5% or 1%.

My guess is the battery.

And it's best for you if I'm right. that's probably the cheapest/easiest thing to replace.

Ay, but it's probably lying to you. That's part of what malfunctioning means.
