I've been playing about five years, and it just occurred to me that I always have my hand on the bridge of my guitar when I alternate pick. This is probably derived from me playing alot of metal and needing to quickly switch from alternate picking and palm muting. My question is, is this bad technique? Should have have my hand hovering above the strings rather than fixed on the bridge?
I do that two, but I play really fast metal. Ive also been playing five years.
I play alot of fast metal too haha. I think the habit just developed from constantly palm muting large series of notes.
I don't use guitars with floating bridges, so far, so I don't need to worry about that much.
