Under the pickguard, what is it routed? I kinda wanted to make it a true HSH instead of throwing in a stacked bucker in the neck.

the pickups are held in place by the pickgaurd. The body is rounted so that you could put 3 humbuckers if you wanted to. If you can find a pickgaurd or get someone to cut the current one you can do it.

I'm pretty sure it's HSH.

My Mexican Strat HSS is routed just for HSS... the middle pickup cavity is also slightly oversized but won't fit a humbucker.

I think it's just the upgraded 2006 models that don't have the swimming pool route. If yours was made before then you should be fine.

Why not HH, or HSS, since almost nobody uses the middle SC in a HSH set.

I would be fine with HSS if I could find any opinions on Dimarzio's stacked buckers, like the Air Norton S.

And where are there HH strats?
