OK I recently replace my E string with a .52 to make the drop D tunings I use in my band sound a bit...well less rattley.

Anyway I've been playing today and I noticed that my natural harmonics sound a lot deader than they did before, like they're no longer ringing like they used to/compared to the other strings.

Do I just need to readjust my way of making NHs til it sounds right or is this a permanent problem?

Thanks.

It might be that your action is to low and the new fatter string is muffled against the fret board. Have you noticed any rattling or buzzing when you play that string? (with out an amplifier)
