Well, I'm gonna do it, and I'm gonna get reamed....Here goes....

Lookin for a guitar under $400 US that meets these requirements:

24 Frets
2 HB PU's or an HSH config is cool too, long as there are 2 HB's
Tremolo that wont wack outta tune with an accidental nudge
5 way switching
Small, fast, comfortable neck

Preferably:
Alder Body, or basswood

Doesn't matter cuz I will replace:
Pickups
Possibly the Bridge, as long as I don't have to do any routing

ANY suggestions, please?!?!?!
I'm hungry.

How about!

Squire Jagmaster

The Jagmaster guitar is an upgraded and redesigned Squier offering tons of tone and vibe. Details such as the vintage tinted neck, parchment and tortoise pickguards, and pearloid dot inlays make this one a cut above the rest! The new design includes a return to the 24” Jaguar® scale for easy playability, a six-screw tremolo bridge and Duncan Designed™ humbucking pickups for amazing tone.

It's only 22 Medium Jumbo frets but Alder body and I think this is the guitar for you!

It's very metal

This would've been funnier if you would have said you had an MG... oh well.

There are no genres in metal that end with "core."

+1 ^^ and +1 for the comment above, the other week my friend said he was going to buy an MG or Spider, I went quiet and then laughed at him.

If all you had to go on was the forum you'd think a Decimator could cure noise caused by dodgey stage lighting and restock the ocean's population of sperm whales

question: how do you have a 5 way switch with 2 humbuckers?

Some Ibanez with 2 humbuckers have them. Look here:

http://www.ibanez.com/eg/guitar.aspx?m=S320

Which btw only lacks the 24 frets to meet the requirements...

EDIT: the body is mahogany, but i thinks its better than basswood or alder

Schecters simply cannot be beat for the price. I love my Schecter collection. Definately look into one of those.

a cheap, metal, axe.

Damn, I was about to post the same picture

But, for reals, Jackson has a few good low-price guitars. The DXMG is a little over $400, but it meets all those specifications (except it just has 2 EMGs, and 3-way switch) and it just sounds great.
