Enter Sandman - Metallica. It's easy, everybody knows it, it's a good song.
Hole in the Sky - Black Sabbath. It's Black Sabbath, 'nuff said.
Anything by The Sword. They just own too much
Lay Down by Priestess. By far one of Canada's best band. Priestess rock out loud.
Walk by Pantera. It's not that difficult, and you sound badass playing it. This one is a bit over done nowadays though. *cough*Fall Out Boy*cough* *cough* Avenged Sevenfold *cough*
Sad But True - Metallica. Again, easy, but badass sounding.

Yes! Killswitch is amazing. Rose of Sharyn would be a good one to cover too.

I personally think it's really cool when bands play covers that are out of their genre, but change them so that they work.

Example: Smile Empty Soul plays a cover of Possession by Sarah Mclachlan which is a slow song and obviously SES is a rock band so they changed it to fit their genre. It's still very much recognizable but not a carbon-copy of the original.

I just get tired of hearing metal bands playing the same old metal covers. Being able to take a song outside of your genre and make it your own takes way more talent and creativity than just looking up a tab and regurgitating it on stage..

sweet child of mine is pretty easy and after a bit of practice youll be able to do the solo, a song you should really play is supernaut by black sabbath, the solo and percussion bit might be a problem but again if you play through it a few times youll be able to get it, these songs usually sound pretty sick when there played live, you guys should give them a go

DO stuff people know so they can sing along. Nothing worse than playin songs that people don't know :-P
