I've played this little game over at The Gear Page and at the Jam Session Forums.
And it really worked.

Simply add your own creative chord choice to the growing progression
and let the universe write a tune.

Simple rules so it works.

1. only one chord at a time, let someone else post between your chords.

2. You must deal with the chord someone entered. Make a bad chord
that preceeds yours sound good with your great chord.

3. Strive to have movement ( II V I ) not just "I chords". For interest.
Change key if you must.

4. Anything goes as long as you think it will compliment the progression.

5. Think of each chord lasting one whole 4/4 measure.

6. USE TAB not just a chord name

This is about as close to "jamming" as we are going to get, it is jamming. Sort of.

So show your stuff.

Here's the first chord to kick it off.

How about a nice safe start

C maj9
----0------
----3------
----4------
----2------
----3------
-----------

enjoy

OK, Gramps, tab out the voicing of your chord because there are many Em7 chords

Use the "dash" key, two in from the backspace key, and then numbers

Until then it don't count

Wow, it was entered as I looked at it, it just poped in.

Good

He added the tab later. When I wrote it, he hadn't tabbed.

this has no rhythm, though? I think the people in this forum should be able to handle tempo, beat, dynamics, etc.

How do you suggest rhythms get written?

I can't do rhythms with my computer

It's just a silly game.

But thanks for the input

btw, where's your chord????

^ CanCan, 23 = F# and then C. F# understood... you're putting a dominant 7 in there not a major 7.

...this is not a B/D chord. this is about as much of a Bm7 chord as it can get.

I was gonna tried to add to this, but as far as I can tell it has very little direction. lol
